The Fourth Observation

Our grass is nearly 19 centimeter now. It’s hard to get an accurate measurement because the grass is curling on top. The water level is slightly lower at 6.7 centimeters and there’s still no algae growth. The water instead remains clear. Other than that there is lots of condensation happening with water droplets at the top and around the aquarium level.

The Third Observation – 02/21/20

It’s been about a week since my last observation and I’m happy to show the progress the biome has made since then! The water level is slightly lower at 6.7 centimeters and there is still no algae growth. As you can see in the picture the plants have grown tremendously – the tallest sprout is about 13.9 centimeters. The water is clear and there are more signs of condensation in the lower aquarium level with some condensation near the very top.

The Second Observation – 02/14/20

The water level is about the same compared to the week before from what I can tell. From here on out I’ll be taking precise measurements to be more accurate. This week the water level is about 6.9 cm. There’s no algae growth on the water. However, we have two sprouts of plants; both about half a centimeter tall. The water is fairly clear and there is some condensation on the very top.

The First Observation

My partner Ethan built our bottle biome will I was absent. We have a terrarium on top with seeds that will hopeful sprout as time passes. On the bottom we have a small aquarium and a string that water may travel through by capillary action. I think we may see the water cycle occur in the contained setting and our plants will grow reusing the same water over and over again.
